Once you have completed your TEFL Scotland Course you will undoubtedly have your sights set on securing a job teaching English abroad. This is both an exciting and daunting prospect. With literally the whole world open to you and thousands of TEFL Jobs to choose from where do you start? Here is a quick guide to help you choose where you want to work and how to get the right TEFL job for you.
Research your TEFL destination
Did you know that there are more people learning English in China than speak it in America? Let this be an indication of the enormous demand for qualified TEFL teachers all over the world. Once you are qualified with TEFL Scotland you really can find work anywhere in the world, from Germany to Ecuador there are abundant opportunities for native English speaking TEFL teachers.
The best thing you can do is make a list of your top three TEFL destinations and start researching. Think about what type of lifestyle you want to lead. Is a good salary important to you? Are you prepared to live in a developing country? Do want summer weather all year round? It is very easy to find information on the web, a quick country search will be enough. At TEFL Scotland we work with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), to help British nationals stay safe abroad. The FCO website has lots of useful and up to date information about every country in the world and is really worth checking out before you travel abroad to teach English.

So once you have decided on a destination it will be time to start looking for a TEFL Job. After completing an accredited TEFL Course with TEFL Scotland you will have access to our TEFL Jobs Centre. It also means you can discuss the terms of your contract face to face with your employer, which leads us to the next section.
