New Faces at TEFL

I began travelling when I finished Secondary School and made my way around Europe with a tent and a railpass. I became fixated with seeing the world and spent my summers from University escaping to exotic locations as often as possible! When I finished my degree in Textile Design, I left Glasgow for South America and spent a year learning Portuguese, volunteering with monkeys in the Bolivian Yungas and taking crazy bus journeys through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

Like many others, I finished Secondary School, not having a clue what to do next! A few of my friends had been on gap years and I had always dreamt about getting out of rainy Scotland, so I looked into it.
By August, I was over in Argentina, teaching English in a local school in Buenos Aires. The contract was for 6 months and once I had completed it, I went travelling with some local friends through many different South American countries. It was incredible, a real eye opener. When it was time to leave, I was not a happy person. During my time there I had made loads of friends, learnt Spanish, learnt how to teach and had fallen for an Argentine beauty. I did return to Scotland but 3 months later I was back in Argentina again. I stayed there a year that time, living with my girlfriend. I am now back again working for TEFL Scotland but I'm getting itchy feet and I feel I'm quite ready for another little adventure. Just don't tell the boss!

“Great teaching style, quick moving, all activities were examples of teaching techniques. Very approachable tutor, good fun, didn't feel like long days, great to take part and watch all lessons.” Fiona Amy, Physiotherapist, Edinburgh
