Davie Does TEFL in Mexico

My name is Davie and I am 28 years old. Last year I finished my primary teaching probation year in Dumfries and Galloway. I used the current lack of teaching posts back home as justification to scarper. The truth is it has always been a dream of mine to travel to a Spanish speaking country to learn the language and the culture.
I attended a TEFL Scotland weekend course, completed an online grammar course and started looking for jobs. I sent my CV to loads of schools in Argentina, which, for several reasons was my dream destination. I'm still not sure how but my CV was intercepted by a school in Aguascalientes. Where? That was my first question too.
Well, after a short interview process, I was offered the job. I accepted, and here I am. Aguascalientes is a beautiful little city bang in the middle of Mexico. About one million people live in the old colonial centre and the surrounding areas. Five minutes out of town and you are in cowboy heaven. What a little gem of a place.
I am getting great experience teaching in all sorts of situations. I am teaching small groups of six to nine year olds, larger classes of high level business English and everything in between.
The job has been an excellent way to meet people. It has had real purpose too; it was the vehicle that brought me to this wonderful country with beautiful people and a vibrant culture. Magic.
I never did hear from anyone in Argentina...
