Teaching English in Poland

Poland is considered to have more job opportunities for native English speakers than most other countries in the world. You will need a TEFL certificate and most likely some teaching experience if you wish to teach English in Poland. There are plenty of jobs on offer across the country and adverts in British newspapers tend to have more adverts for jobs in Poland than in any other place in the world. There are jobs all over the country particularly in the major cities such as Krakow and Warsaw where there are many opportunities in state schools, private schools, universities and private language schools amongst others.
The average salary for a teacher in Poland is 2,500 PLN (£570) with good accommodation being more than affordable but your school may include this already or offer help in finding a flat. Your wages will enable you to live comfortably but it won’t be very easy to save unless you find yourself able to teach private lessons as many teachers do.
Public transport in the cities is easy and cheap to use so take advantage of it in order to see all the sights! There are many museums, theatres and places for going out in the city and with food and drink being relatively cheap compared to Britain your wages will be more than enough to ensure you have a good time.
