TEFL TEACHING JOBS IN THE PHILIPPINES
(Teaching Jobs in the Philippines,Teaching jobs in Cebu. TESL or ESL in Cebu. Teaching English as a Second Language TESL or English as a Second Language ESL. )
There are many different types of teaching opportunities available in the Philippines. For example, there are several English schools in Cebu and Cebu City in the Philippines. There are many teaching jobs throughout the Philippines. Many schools are operated by Koreans and many more by American, British and Australian organisations.
Many native English speaking expatriates living throughout the Philippines who are not retired are teaching ESL/TESL. Some are doing this as an additional income and some as volunteers, there is a lot of voluntary work available.
Although there is work out there, most teaching jobs are not advertised. Therefore, you must be pro-active in your TEFL job search and contact the schools directly with your resume/CV. Teaching TESL/TEFL in the Philippines generally requires you to be a native English speaker from the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa.
Many of the jobs available teaching in the Philippines involve working from home via computer and webcam and many more are working directly at the schools. Some are full time positions and some are part time. There are several online teaching companies in Manila. Teaching for an online company means you can stay home and work a few hours a day from your computer.
Working in the schools doing face to face classes is loads of fun. Teaching in the Philippines can be fun with lively, positive classes. It is not hugely well paid but it does give the opportunity to really appreciate and enjoy life in the Philippines. You do need a degree along with your TEFL Certificate but it can be in any field. This is true for most, but not all of the schools. It is highly recommended that you get your TEFL/TESL certification. This will give you more credibility when looking for a teaching position. The Certification training can be done online and takes just a short time to complete. The tutors on all the courses are very helpful and you are your own tutor. The tutors reply quickly giving all the help you need.
Many Asian countries are struggling to find Native Speaking TEFL/TESL teachers. China, Japan, South Korea, Thailand are just a few of the Asian countries looking for teachers. Salaries vary greatly by country and by the type of teaching format. Your Salary for Online teaching may just be an hourly wage. Direct teaching salaries can go from just £150.00 monthly to £1250.00 depending on the country and school. Many schools offer free housing and flight reimbursement.
