TEFL Jobs in Nepal - Orphanage Assistant

Volunteers will typically live with a host family that is involved with the orphanage. Two or three meals per day will be provided to you by your host family, depending on the individual situation. Assistance will be provided to help ensure safe and reliable transportation to, from, and within Nepal.

What do these TEFL positions in Nepal entail?

Working with this orphanage to assist in exchanging knowledge and developing ideas that allows them to work toward a better future. Volunteers provide these children with something many locals cannot; they share their perspective of the world, and by doing so create excitement and a desire to learn more. Our volunteers make learning interesting, exciting, and joyful. Above all else, a volunteer can show an orphaned child what it is like to be loved and appreciated.

Volunteer’s responsibilities:
International volunteers may be responsible for the following:

o Teaching English, maths, computers or other important subjects at an orphanage or school (about 3-4 hours a day)
o Monitor academic progress of children by helping out with their homework and ensuring it gets completed
o Organise games, dancing, singing, drawing, and other creative education and various learning activities
o Help during excursions and field-trips
o Help with nutrition (may involve work in the kitchen and even garden)
o Skill training for older children
o Sanitation and personal hygiene
o Administration
o Any other ideas the volunteer may have

Job Requirements

  • TEFL Scotland certificate: 120-hour
  • Required to be native English speaker? Yes
  • University degree needed? No
  • What else do you need? At least 18 years old (please contact us if you are under 18)
    - Possess a motivated desire to help others
    - Good mental and physical health
    - Absolutely no chemical dependency
    - No criminal background
