Where is it based?

TEFL teachers wanted to fill positions available throughout South Korea. Having been in the cultural shaddow of China for much of its history, Chinese influences are evident in traditional Korean culture. Koreans are fiercely proud of their heritage; you will certainly find it fascinating as you explore and take it everything South Korea has to offer.

South Korean people are hospitable and friendly, you may find yourself surprised at how often locals will come up and start chatting to you in the street. Beyond the culture and people, South Korea is a beautiful country in which to explore or hop across to neighbouring Japan and China.

TEFL Jobs in South Korea - Locations Vary

Earning this salary will give you a disposable income of about £1000 every month as you only pay bills, not rent. This means you will have plenty of chances to explore or save money!

Accommodation allowance is given in all placements and help to secure an appropriate apartment is provided.

You will need to work at least 12 months and visa preparations take around 2 months to complete before you go. Details of how to gain the E2 working visa will be supplied.

What do these TEFL positions in South Korea entail?

You will be teaching in a government school with class sizes between 15 to 30 children, ranging from 3 to 18 years old. You will be teaching 24-30 hours per week with working hours being approx. 35-40 hours per week.

The start date is either February or August, in-line with the beginning of the new term therefore an exact start date depends on the school.

  • TEFL Scotland certificate: 20-hour
  • Required to be native English speaker? Yes
  • University degree needed? Yes
  • What else do you need? You should be someone who can adapt to new cultures and lifestyles, have very good communication skills and are open minded.
