Mr Alec
I’m from Edinburgh, where I went to school, and then I spent a good few years working abroad before continuing my career mostly in and around Dundee.
I’ve got degree from Aberdeen University and an MA in Applied Linguistics from Lancaster, plus a TQFE from Dundee University. I was a CELTA trainer for several years.
I was always interested in TEFL. I went to Ethiopia as a volunteer EFL teacher after I left uni and liked it so much I stayed for 4 years. Then I worked in England, Vietnam, Abu Dhabi, Spain and China at various times.
Finally coming to rest in Dundee. I am now retired (ish) but work for SQA in various roles, plus other writing and training work. I have always loved TEFL teaching because of the people you meet, the enjoyable nature of the teaching and the opportunities for travel. And I find the teacher training with TEFL Scotland really rewarding, again because of the people you meet and also for the instant results.
