Social Responsibility
At TEFL Scotland, we believe that it’s important to give something back. When you start a TEFL course with us, part of your fee will go towards helping others in some way. Below you can find out more about where some of your money may go.
Malaika Africa
TEFL Scotland supports Malaika Africa, a charity which relies on donations from individuals and companies to help provide children in the Tanzanian mining community of Mirerani with an education. The charity is aiming to build a primary school in the area and you can ‘sponsor a brick’ for just £2 to help Malaika Africa to achieve their goal. TEFL Scotland has recently pledged money to help buy materials for the school library and hopes to have continued involvement with the charity.

In the UK
TEFL Scotland doesn’t just support education abroad but we also support teaching here in the UK. Sandra Campbell and Anne Davies are two ladies from Aberdeen who provide free lessons to local immigrants. They attended a weekend TEFL course in November 2009 and began teaching in January 2010 and now TEFL Scotland is supporting them by donating teaching materials for their classes.
Carbon Footprint
We’re very conscious of our carbon footprint here at TEFL Scotland. All of our suppliers are local and when you get your TEFL certificate we guarantee that it will be printed on recycled paper! We also make sure that paper in the office is recycled rather than put in the regular bin. TEFL Scotland wants to become more environmentally friendly and we’re always looking for ways to do this – suggestions are welcome!
