Teaching in South Korea Public Schools (State schools)
Overview
Salary: 1,8000,000 to 2,700,000 won (currently £900 - £1300)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Bonus: 1 month salary at end of contract
Housing: Provided and paid for by school (single housing)
Airfare: Round trip airfare reimbursed on compltion of the contract
Health Insurance: Local medical insurance provided
Holidays: 3 to 5 weeks of vacation time in addition to national holidays (this varies by location)
Working/teaching hours: 22-24 teaching hours per week
Teaching in South Korea private schools
Overview
Salary: 2,000,000 to 3,000,000 won (currently £1000 - £1450)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Bonus: 1 month salary at end of contract
Housing: Provided and paid for by school (single or shared housing)
Airfare: Round trip airfare reimbursed (sometimes paid up front)
Health Insurance: Local medical insurance provided
Holiday: 2 weeks of vacation time in addition to national holidays
Working/teaching hours: 30 teaching hours per week (preparation time is expected but often not written into contract)
