We are recruiting TEFL teachers for positions at a language school organisation in Ecuador to start at the beginning of April 2011. The city of Cuenca is located in the highlands of Ecuador, close to the Andes and El Cajas National Park, while the centre of the city itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Trust site. The school is a long-standing non-profit organisation which employs 40 English teachers over its 3 sites in Ecuador’s third largest city. Teachers are well supported with regular workshops, curriculum shares, and a wide selection of resources.
Teach English in Ecuador - Language School
Contract: 15 – 20 contact hours per week. 
Classes run Monday – Saturday, though most teachers will have a five-day week. Before the start of term, teachers are expected to arrive for a week of orientation and arrangement of accommodation. Preference is given to teachers who can make a minimum commitment of six months.
Salary: $275 per 50-hour adult class, $220 per 40-hour children’s class, $260 per 40-hour Saturday class. Classes run in both 5 and 10 week teaching cycles. Instructors teach at least 3 or 4 classes, and can request more and/or teach tutorials, which are paid at $5.50 per hour. Teachers earn enough to live comfortably in Ecuador, where prices are much lower than in Europe.
Accommodation: Assistance in finding accommodation offered
Medical: Optional low cost health insurance offered
Visas and travel: To be arranged by the teacher.
Other benefits: Free Spanish lessons, Internet/Wifi access free at all sites. Salsa dance instruction and lending library accessible to all teachers.
