Kazakhstan is the ninth largest country in the world by land area and very ethnically and culturally diverse. A country of many contrasts, the terrain ranges from arid deserts, hills and deltas to snow-capped mountains. The city is located at the point where the Kargala and Ilek rivers meet, surrounded by flat steppe, low hills and lush countryside.
The name Kazakhstan is a derivation of an ancient Turkic word meaning "independent, a free spirit", which gives you a flavour of the country and its people.
The government continues to encourage the teaching of English to help boost the economy, which has shown significant growth since 2000.
These jobs are based in Aktobe, a bustling city of 277,000 residents and the capital of Aktobe Province. Aktobe is a cultural and educational centre, with many institutions of higher learning including a University and a medical academy.
