These TEFL jobs involve teaching English to university students and adults. A popular school for both students and teachers alike, you would be teaching at a respected private language academy with several decades of experience of TEFL work in the area, staffed by teachers who often enjoy their work enough to stay on for several years. A tried and tested curriculum is provided and the academy has many course books developed specifically for its own lessons, as well as lots of excellent resources and well-equipped classrooms. Ongoing training and support is on offer to help you continue to develop your career. You could be teaching any of a variety of classes including conversational English, business English, and academic reading and writing classes. 1 to 1 teaching positions are also available.
Jobs are available at several locations in Seoul and two locations in Busan. The schools are located in major social and business hubs within the cities so you can be sure of having plenty to do outside of work. You would be teaching 7 50-minute classes each day for 20 days per month. Classes are often split between mornings and evenings with the days free.
For a teacher who has completed one of our recommended TEFL courses, you could expect to be earning around 2.6 million won. An even higher salary is possible with overtime, weekend teaching and pay rises (every six months for your first two years of teaching!).
In addition to your TEFL certificate, for these positions you will need an apostille copy of your degree and an apostille criminal record check – this means a document which has been approved by the Foreign Office as a genuine UK public document.
