Standing at the land bridge of Europe and Asia, Turkey is a fascinating nation and is one of the friendliest and most welcoming countries in the world. Ancient settlements, such as Troy and Ephesus, and stunning beaches dot the landscape, so you will never be short of places to go and things to do. If staying in a country with a warm climate, fascinating history and delicious food appeals to you, why not put your TEFL certificate to use teaching English in Turkey?
These TEFL jobs in Turkey are in Yalova, a small city near Istanbul. It is located in the north-west of the country on the coast and is only 50 minutes by ferry from the capital. Yalova is home to a number of tourist attractions including famous hot springs and spas.
You would be teaching English at a private language school to a range of ages and levels. The school is well-established, having operated in Turkey for over 30 years with a number of branches across the country. Classes involve a maximum of 15 students. You could be introducing younger children to English, helping older students prepare for university entrance exams or helping adults with their Business English.
As well as offering valuable assistance in securing a Turkish visa, these positions also offer free accommodation in a private apartment. Should you choose to find your own accommodation after you arrive, you can be provided with shared accommodation for two weeks, free of charge, and you will then be paid a monthly salary of 1000TL but rent will be for your own expense. To give an idea of expenses in Yalova, you would pay about 1.50TL for a bus ride into town, 6TL for a cinema ticket, 5TL for a meal and 6TL for a ferry ticket to Istanbul.
