Volunteering in Bangladesh

Requirements:

TEFL Scotland certificate

TEFL Scotland are currently helping recruit qualified TEFL teachers to work with a Scottish charity at Bangla College in northern Bangladesh.

The College provides teaching at the A-level equivalent standard and has recently begun a number of Degree courses. The College is keen to improve English language proficiency of the students, especially as in Bangladesh the students lack confidence in English speaking.

We are looking for volunteers to stay and teach English for a period of one to three months, preferably starting in October. Earlier volunteers have benefited the College and the quality of English teaching greatly.

Accommodation (in a detached house with a beautiful surrounding, near the College) will be provided free of charge for two volunteer English teachers. There are no programme fees associated with this opportunity – you would only need to pay for flights, food and insurance.

Bangladesh is a friendly country with a low cost of living. These positions involve living and working in the peaceful landscapes, and enjoyable mild climate prevailing in the early and later parts of the year. By volunteering in Bangladesh, you would have an excellent chance to experience the culture and natural surroundings of this fascinating part of the country.

Dates: 1-2 months starting in October or November

Accommodation: Provided free of charge, house share with other volunteer
